According to wire reports, a Clanton resident was injured during the deadly rampage in Geneva County where a gunman killed 10 people before killing himself.

Jeffrey Lynn Melton, 50, was injured by a gunshot from 28-year-old Michael McLendon during his killing spree.

Melton declined to comment about the situation and wished to keep his connection “low key” when The Clanton Advertiser contacted him by phone yesterday.
