Reap the benefits of the Internet

For those of you who want to enhance your Web presence, you will have the chance to do that this week. Derek Hopper, an Internet consultant for TownNews.com, will be in town today through Friday consulting with area businesses who would like to advertise on our Web site, https://www.clantonadvertiser.com/.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with our site, here’s a few things that might interest you. Since our new Web site went live last July, we’ve had more than 700,000 visits to our site with more than 3.29 million pageviews. That’s a lot of visits and pageviews. That has equaled to about 175,000 unique visitors. Visitors to our Web site visit more than four pages, and most of our users have used Internet Explorer followed by Firefox.

Next to our homepage, the Obituaries page is the most viewed page followed by news, opinion, classifieds, sports and help wanted. You might be surprised to find out that divorces and marriages have received 30,000 pageviews each during that time.

The two stories about drownings actually garnered the most unique pageviews, meaning that more people actually looked at these stories than any other story.

Those are some pretty amazing numbers, and I just thought you might want to know this if you’re considering advertising on our site. If these numbers interest you, contact our advertising staff today to see if you can get in the schedule. Most of the slots are filled up, but there may still be some left.

There are numerous ways you can advertise on our site. You can, of course, purchase ads on specific pages such as front, news, sports, opinion and even divorces if you’d like. However, you can also choose to have your ads pop up every time a certain word is used in a story. If you like Thorsby School, you could choose to have an ad appear each time the word “Thorsby” or “Rebels” appears. The possibilities are endless.

Now, I certainly like our paper edition that comes out each morning, but www.clantonadvertiser.com allows you to keep up with what’s going on up to the minute. If you want to see how this Internet traffic will affect your business, give us a call.
