The student who was injured in a wreck involving a school bus and a van in the parking lot of Verbena High School has been released from the hospital.

School Superintendent Keith Moore said the third grade student suffered only scrapes and bruises during the incident, only needing a few stitches. He doesn’t know if the student will be returning to school Monday.

The student was hurt when he was struck by a van that was hit by a school bus that had rolled forward. School officials are still investigating the incident.
