Maplesville’s softball team defeated visiting Chilton County, 4-2, today.

The Red Devils (3-1) struck first, in the fourth inning, when Morgan Little (1/3) doubled to center field then scored when Heather Chambers reached base on an error. Chamber scored when Bridget Nichols (1/3) singled.

The Tigers (1-1) struck back in the top of the fifth when Brianna Cleckler reached base on error then scored due to another error. Rachel Johnston then scoreed on a single by April Lewis (1/3).

The Lady Devils came firing back in the sixth inning when Chambers reached on a walk then scored on a triple by Cheyenne Sheffied (1/3). Sheffield then scored on a single by Natalie Arnold (1/3) to make the score 4-2.

Courtney Killingsworth was the winning pitcher.
