Clanton physician Jeff Price hopes his service on the city council will result in the growth of recreational activities for all residents, but especially children and teenagers.

“The main reason I decided to run for city council is to help bring about more opportunities for all residents. Whether it is creating more recreational activities for young people or more growth in new retail businesses to keep residents from having to drive out of town,” Dr. Price said, “we have to provide good city services here to bring about new growth.”

He said the city has worked hard to provide police and fire protection and improve other services it provides to its residents. “We can continue to work on these services and hopefully businesses will want to come to Clanton because we offer such good services.”

He said the city needs to plan for growth and listen to residents’ suggestions and needs. Dr. Price said his practice allows him to interact “face to face” with residents of all ages of the city. This interaction provides him firsthand information about what residents need in regard to city services as well as their thoughts about the growth of the community.

A native of Chilton County, Dr. Price is a graduate of Thorsby High School, University of Montevallo and University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine. He owns Chilton Family Medicine in Clanton and is active in youth organizations in the community.

“The youth in our community are so very important to me,” he said. “I want them to have the best resources available to grow up as responsible, law abiding citizens.”

Price and his wife, Misti, are the parents of four children, Griffin, Boyd, Tucker and Ella.
