Alfa Insurance keeping up with growth and needs of county

Chilton County is growing and Alfa Insurance is trying to keep up with its growth by having four offices and five agents available to handle all the insurance needs of the residents of Chilton County.

Clanton has two offices with agents, David Smith, David Locke and Bobby Collum. Maplesville has one office with agent Kendall Williams, while Jemison has one office with agent Tim Loftin. Alfa is the only insurance company that offers two full-time staff adjusters. Brian Jones is a native of Chilton County. Brian is a 1999 graduate of Chilton County High School and a claims CSR, Rhonda Traywick is there to help process the claims. After graduating from high school Brian continued his education at Auburn University where he graduated from the school of Business with a degree in Accounting. In March 2004, Brian accepted a position as staff Accountant with ALFA Insurance companies. Patrick Draughon is the claims adjuster in the South Clanton office with a claims CSR, Julie Fox to help process the claims.

Alfa Insurance has a full line of services to meet the needs of all Chilton County residents, including fire, auto, health, homeowners, and life. Alfa also has a line of commercial coverage for local businesses to meet the needs of a changing insurance market.

The Alfa insurance agents in Chilton County are there when you need them, ready to meet any insurance needs you may have.

The following is a brief biography on each of the five agents serving Chilton County.

Alfa Agent Bobby Collum

Bobby joined ALFA’s agency force in September 2006 but is no stranger to the insurance business after serving as an adjuster for State Farm and Nationwide. Bobby is located in downtown Clanton on Lay Dam Road. Bobby has the privilege to share his office with some great Customer Service Representatives, Sandra Heflin, Misty Burnett, Rhonda Traywick and fellow Agent David Locke. Bobby would also like to let his customers know that ALFA continues to staff a full time Adjuster on location in his downtown office on Lay Dam Road. Our adjusters name is Brian Jones.

Bobby is a native of Chilton County and became an agent with ALFA in the summer of 2006. He is a graduate from Jemison High School. He is a graduate of Auburn University of Montgomery with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Bobby is married to the former Mindy Christofides also of Clanton. Bobby has a 7 year old daughter named Zoey and a 5 year old son named Sawyer who both live in Clanton, Alabama. Bobby attends West End Baptist Church of Clanton, and he also enjoys community activities such as softball and serving as a coach for the Upward Basketball league.

Bobby feels that he can use his claims experience to help insure that his customers and their families are protected with ALFA’s great products. Bobby says that it is great to be with such a strong company that can and will “stand behind their promises” that they make to their customers everyday.

Alfa Agent David Locke

David is entering his 9th year of serving ALFA policyholders and is located in downtown Clanton on Lay Dam Road. He is a native of Chilton County who moved back to Chilton County in July of 2000. David shares his office with some great people in Customer Service Representatives, Sandra Heflin, Misty Burnett, Rhonda Traywick and fellow agent Bobby Collum. David would also like to let his customers know that ALFA continues to have a full time adjuster on staff out of his new office on Lay Dam Road. Our adjusters name is Brian Jones.

David is a graduate of Chilton County High School and holds a business degree from Mississippi State University. His wife Kimiera is currently teaching First Grade at Clanton Elementary. David and Kimiera have two children, Riley, 8, and Emma Kate, 4 years old. They live in the City of Clanton and enjoy being part of this great community. David and Kimiera are active members of First United Methodist in Clanton. David is very involved in his local Boy Scouts of America Pack 57. He also serves as a member of Partners Enhancing Education in Chilton County also know as the P.E.E.C.H. Foundation. David enjoys coaching baseball and Upward Basketball.

He takes great pride in protecting families just like his own. David tries to conduct his business by putting his customer’s needs first in all that he does. He feels that the highest complement that you can pay him is a referral of a friend or family member. “Treat people the way you would like to be treated and it will reflect in your business and in your life.”

Alfa Agent David E. Smith

David Smith is very excited to be a part of the Chilton Co ALFA team in Clanton. David works out of the South Clanton office on Logan Road across from Chilton County High School and is supported by some remarkable ladies to include Heather Watson, Kristi Parrish, Stefanie Adams and Julie Fox. Our office strives hard to make your visit a positive personal helpful experience.

David is the son of Ms. Janice Smith and the late William Earl Smith of Clanton. He has been married 7 years to Kelli Chastain of Billingsley and they have 2 beautiful children (son) Wyatt 6 and (daughter) Wesley 3 and their third child is due in July. David is a 1982 graduate of Chilton County High school and 1986 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration and Finance. David and his family are members of West End Baptist church in Clanton. Being a lifelong native of Clanton, David certainly understands the insurance needs of the great people here in our county based on the rapidly changing world we live in.

Prior to joining ALFA in October of 2007 David earned 16 years experience in the Property and Casualty claims business with another carrier. David’s vast experience in claims both as an adjuster and a district claims manager gives him a tremendous understanding of the true needs of families when “disaster hits” and the urgency of being PROPERLY prepared. Whether it is an automobile accident, a house fire, a water damaged home, a deadly storm or the death of a loved one taken suddenly from a family. “Preparation is the key. If I have you prepared in all areas with your coverage’s then the claims experience is hopefully somewhat easier if/when it happens.”

David’s goal is simple — to provide quality customer service and provide it promptly to his ALFA policyholders in every way. “I want to provide you the protection you need for the very best price possible. Whether it is Auto, Home, Loans, Commercial, and Life insurance or somewhere in between, I want to serve YOU and your family both today and for years to come.”

Alfa Agent Kendall Williams

Kendall is the ALFA agent located on Main Street in Maplesville. He is assisted by veteran Supervising Customer Service Representative Nell Verner and Customer Service Representative Jennifer Lewis.

As a Chilton County native, Kendall begins his 9th year with ALFA in and has received numerous company awards including among others his streak of eight Distinguished Service Award presentations awarded to top ALFA producers as well as Distinguished Field Underwriter Awards. He was named as a member of the Agents Advisory Council for 2008. “My career with ALFA has truly been a positive experience for me and my family. This job allows me to assist people in their time of need as well as affords me opportunities to become involved in my community. I truly enjoy and appreciate the people I serve, the people I work with and the company I work for.”

Kendall is a graduate of Isabella High School and earned an undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Alabama as well as a Masters of Business Administration degree from Samford University. He and his wife Kathy, their son Slade and their daughter Addyson live in the Fairview community between Maplesville and Clanton. They are actively involved in Mulberry Baptist Church. He is currently the President of the Chilton County Chapter University of Alabama Alumni Association and enjoys being involved with his children’s activities as well as hunting and working on the family farm.

Alfa Agent Tim Loftin

Tim Loftin, member of the Chilton County ALFA Team is now in his fifth year of serving the Jemison Community. Tim Works out of the Jemison Office with fellow agent David Bishop, supervising CSR Henrietta Belcher and CSR Karen Cottingham.

Tim and wife Lynn, who is from the Chilton County area, live in the Union Grove community. They attend Calera Baptist Church where they have both been active members.
