Tuesday was a busy day for fire departments in southeastern Chilton County, as more than 10 fires broke out across the area.

Most of the blazes were brush fires in remote areas, but fire claimed one building that was fortunately unoccupied.

Thanks to East Chilton, Verbena, Clanton and Enterprise fire departments, as well as Alabama Forestry officials, for responding to the fires and working together to get them contained. Also, thanks to the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department for their efforts in investigating the case and making a quick arrest.
