Agnes Guy

Agnes Guy, 74, of Jemison, passed away on Monday, Feb. 16 in her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Guy was born in Germany on July 19, 1934, the only child to Hans and Anna Scheid. She met her husband while he was stationed in Germany in 1952 and they married in 1955. After traveling abroad before her husband retired from the military, they settled in Jemison in 1973, where they have lived since. She has been a member of First Baptist Church in Jemison since 1973, where she has served on committees, visited the sick, cooked and taken food to people during times of difficulties. On Sundays, she worked with the nursery and preschool children, of which she loved, for more than 30 years.
Survivors of Mrs. Guy include her devoted husband of 53 years, Floyd B. Guy; son, Johnny Guy (Betsy); daughters, Monica Marthaler (Bill), Patricia Barnette (Glenn) and Vicky Higgins (David); granddaughter, Heidi Boothe; grandson, Steven Hans Guy; granddaughter, Rebecca Guy; granddaughter, Haley Barnett; and grandson, Zachary Higgins.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the services. The Rev. Chuck Bass will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Home.
