Several local offices will close Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day, and some garbage schedules will be affected by the holiday.

The following is a brief list for each city and town:

Offices in the Chilton County Courthouse will close Monday, including both county and state offices.

Clanton City Hall will observe regular business hours Monday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The city will pick up garbage as usual.

Thorsby Town Hall is opening from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The town hall closes for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Citizens should take note, however, that the Thorsby Town Council has canceled their regular meeting scheduled for Monday night.

Maplesville Town Hall and the Maplesville Utilities Board will close for the first time on Presidents’ Day. Monday’s garbage routes will run on Tuesday.

Jemison City Hall will be open as usual from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The city’s garbage services will be unaffected.

All Chilton County public schools will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day.

The U.S. Postal Service will deliver mail Saturday but not on Monday.

Both People’s Southern Bank and Peachtree Bank, including all branches, are planning to close Monday.
