DENTON, Texas — Brandon Hazzard scored 23 points to lead Troy to a 77-69 victory over North Texas on Thursday night.

Thirteen of Hazzard’s points came in the second half. Mario Telfair scored 16 points and made 7-of-8 shots from the field, Antywan Jones scored 10 and Michael Vogler added eight points, eight rebounds and eight assists for Troy (12-10, 7-3 Sun Belt).

Eric Tramiel scored a team-high 19 points for North Texas. Adam McCoy had 15 points, Tristan Thompson contributed 11 and Dominique Johnson added nine for the Mean Green (12-8, 5-4). George Odufawa snagged a career-high 18 rebounds.

Troy led 34-33 at halftime before pulling away in the second half. Troy has won five games in a row and seven of its last eight.
