Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wyatt of Clanton and Mr. and Mrs. Denny Edwards of Gulf Shores are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica LeAnn Knox, to Matthew David Pate, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Pate of Maplesville.

Jessica is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cahalane of Maplesville and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Edwards of Gulf Shores. The bride is also the great-granddaughter of the late E.C. Williams, the late Rosie Mae Abbott and the late Myrtle and J.D. Thompson.

Matthew is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Spigner of Maplesville, Lilly Smitherman of Maplesville, Melba Adams of Verbena, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pate of Clanton. He is the great-grandson of Myrtle Cleckler of Verbena, the late Horace Cleckler of Verbena and the late Ella Mae Smitherman of Maplesville.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on Jan. 31 at Jackson’s Chapel Church in Clanton with a reception to follow.
