Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hicks of Selma are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter and the daughter of the late Ms. Rita Gail Thompson of Maplesville, Amber Leigh-Ann Hicks, to Joseph Richard Holmes, son of Ms. Donna Holmes and the late Mr. Ricky Holmes of Selma.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Barbara Hicks and the late Mr. Curtis Hicks of Lawley, Ms. Gloria Scott and the late Mr. Howard Scott of Maplesville, Mr. Mason Harris of Selma and the late Ms. Barbara George of Selma.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Posey of Selma and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Holmes of Selma.

Hicks is a graduate of Dallas County High School and Chattanooga State in Tennessee with a degree in radiation therapy. She is employed at Montgomery Cancer Center, Selma Branch.

Holmes is a graduate of Dallas County High School and is employed with Alabama Power Company.

The wedding will be April 11 at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Plummer Jr. of Selma.
