Every year, people file into Chilton County High School auditorium to hear students sing songs that take them back in time. That’s the whole concept of “Blast from the Past,” a major school fundraiser that has become a hot ticket locally.

Tickets are available now from “Blast” cast members, and buying from a cast member is the best way to get good seats, coordinator Sheri McKee said.

Tickets will go on sale in the school office Saturday, Jan. 31 at noon. Either way, admission is $7 per person.

“The talent is over the top this year,” McKee said. “We are so excited. There are so many new voices that are great, and the voices we already knew are even better.”

Performances will take place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20-21; and Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28, at 7 each night.

There is reserved seating, so it matters that people buy their tickets early.

The earlier the tickets are purchased, the better the seats.

The song selections are as eclectic as always, including “Mr. Sandman” from the ‘40s, “Jackson,” a country classic, and “I Hate Myself for Loving You” among other big rock numbers.

“I think it’s going to be a great show,” McKee said. “We are working hard to make sure it is.”
