The Safety Department of Georgia-Pacific, Thorsby, participated in a safety program, “Christmas on Us.” The facility was divided into three divisions: Veneer Mill, LVL Mill and MOBS (Maintenance, Office, Boiler and Storeroom). Employees from these departments were encouraged to perform one safety observation each week for the year 2008. Those of whom performed and completed the observations were eligible for their name to be drawn for a Safety bonus at the end of the year. The winners of the “Christmas On Us” Safety Incentive were (back) Curtis Childs, Wesley Sansom, Steve Morgan, Brandon Tucker, (front) Randall Smitherman and David Winslett. Not pictured were Horace Winters, Michael Abbott, Roy Yenney, Shermaine Pierce, Ricky Jones and Larry Martin.
