Mr. and Mrs. David Rowland of Clanton would like to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Darlene Hazel Rowland to Sidney Alexander Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Norman Jr. of Clanton.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Hazel and James Howard Edwards of Verbena and Patricia Gocke and David L. Roland of California.

The groom is the grandson of Jim and Myra Burnett of Clanton and Shirley and Dave Norman of Clanton.

Sidney is a recent graduate from Advance Individual Training for the United States Army and will be leaving for Germany on Feb. 12.

Darlene and Sidney will be married Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Clanton. Invitations have been sent. A reception will follow the ceremony.
