Setting the record straight

I saw the published article concerning the complaint filed in Montgomery County Circuit Court for the issue of the constitutionality of the residence requirement for seat number three. Thank you for the article.

The Advertiser Web site gives a forum for comments and as a result of the article, a comment was placed and removed from a contributor “Graves.” The comments referenced a supplement or salary expense paid to judges and the District Attorney. For clarification, that supplement has been phased out and is no longer paid. It was paid up until Oct. 1, 2000, as an expense for the judges in the 19th Circuit. Neither Autauga, Elmore nor Chilton pay anything for me.

As a side note, the Commissions for the three counties presently pay a supplement for the court reporters, and that expense beginning Oct. 1, 2009, will be a total of $12,000, otherwise no expense to the County Commission by my office.
