A man in his late 50s was killed in a van rollover crash on County Road 75 yesterday afternoon.

Deputy Coroner Awlahjaday Agee could not release the name of the victim because next of kin had not been contacted as of press time.

Just before 3 p.m., the van was traveling south on County Road 75 when it went into a curve, apparently lost control and flipped, coming to rest on its side. The crash occurred about one mile south of Highway 22 and LeCroy Career/Technical Center just outside Clanton City Limits.

Fairview and Clanton fire departments responded to the scene along with Clanton Police, the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers.

Officials on the scene confirmed there were three people in the van. One was transported to UAB hospital, and the other was not injured.

State troopers are investigating the crash.
