The Clanton Road Department and water department and the Alabama Department of Transportation repaired on a hole created by a water leak in both the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 31 in front of Peoples Southern Bank on Monday.

The workers began been fixing the leak since at least 8 a.m. Monday morning and are were hoping to finish the job by Monday night.

“We are going to work as hard as we can to get it finished before we go home today. It won’t be a good thing if we have to leave it open,” Water Board Superintendent Ricky Patterson said.
