Price of gas across state up 10 cents since Dec.

MONTGOMERY — Gasoline prices are climbing for the first time in six months.

According to AAA Alabama, Monday’s statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $1.67. That’s ten cents higher than a month ago.

The national average for regular is $1.79.

The increase was the first since July 11, when the average national price peaked at more than $4.00 a gallon.

AAA Alabama said the average price for midgrade fuel is $1.78 while premium cost $1.84 a gallon.
