Alabamians who received unemployment compensation benefits over the past year will now be able to view and print from the DIR website the documentation needed for filing federal income tax returns. As of today, claimants can access Form 1099 -G online at www.dir.alabama.gov.

“We hope that by allowing Alabamians more convenient access to necessary documentation, we can make filing a little easier on them,” said Alabama Department of Industrial Relations Director Tom Surtees.

These forms are password protected and must be accessed with a claimant’s Social Security number. Claimants without internet access will have their forms mailed to them by Jan. 31.
