The Chilton County Y-xtreme All-Star Cheer Team will take part in the Bam Jam All-Star Cheerleading Competition tomorrow at the BJCC. The team has five more competitions before the end of the season.

“We have been working hard, practicing for these competitions and now we will be able to see what we can do,” coach Toni Marie Collins said.

The cheer team at the YMCA is a co-ed team, meaning they have both male and female students participating. The team is considered a level 1 team and will be competing against many other teams of the same status.

The team members that will be participating are Whitney Anderson, Ryan Scott, Tyler Scott, Destinee Scott, Samantha Mason, JP Gibson, Taylor Gibson, Darian Green, Mary Margaret White, Randi Thornell, Aubrie Hall, Haiely Underwood, Zandy Wilson, Colsen Craig and Jaclyn Lawhorn. Another member, Elizabeth Crumpton, will not be able to participate because of a broken arm.

“The other coaches, Heather Elmore and Courtney Alexander and I are already proud of the kids for all of their hard work, and now we will be able to see what they can do and see what we need to practice before our next competition,” Collins said.

The new spring session for the cheerleaders will be starting soon, and the YMCA is currently taking applications for anyone interested. For more information contact the YMCA at 755-2382.
