Rebels, Lady Tigers into final round

Thorsby’s boys team on Friday earned a berth in the Chilton County Basketball Tournament’s championship game with an exciting 54-52 decision over Jemison.
The Rebels will face Chilton County High at 6:30 p.m.
Eddie Hubbard banked in a 3-pointer with 1:24 left to give Thorsby a 53-52 lead, and Jemison couldn’t convert on any of three possessions with the clock winding down.
Thorsby’s girls team clinched a championship game berth a night earlier and found out Friday who they would play when Chilton County High defeated Isabella, 49-31.
Chilton Co. B-team 62, Jemison 32
Chilton County High shook off an early funk to easily win its seventh consecutive B-team county tournament championship.
Jemison led, 16-14, after one period, but CCHS outscored its opponents 20-4 in the second quarter.
Damion Floyd had 18 points and Quincy Underwood 14 to lead the way.
