“Praise ye the Lord, sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Thought for the week: “I Said a Prayer for You Today”

“I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard — I felt the answer in my heart although He spoke no word. I didn’t ask for wealth or fame I knew you wouldn’t mind, I asked Him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind. I asked that He’d be near you at the start of each new day to grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small, but it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.”

Elder and Mrs. Otis Williams Jr. will celebrate his sixth anniversary as pastor of Kincheon Road Church of God in Clanton tomorrow at 3 p.m. All ministers and churches are invited.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Maplesville will have early morning Church Services at 8 a.m. The Rev. L.C. Young is pastor.

Worship service at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service directed by Jennifer Peoples with prayer, scripture and songs. The scripture was read by Charles Arrington with prayer by Pastor Dukes and Steven Nunn. Songs sung: “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “God Has Done Enough,” and “God Is My Everything.”

The morning message was given by Pastor Dukes. The message was entitled, “How To Get Right With God When You’re Doing a Few Things Right or Things Wrong.” When you have fallen off your pedestal, commit to God and he will commit to you. Do you serve the Lord with no passion? Don’t lose your focus on Jesus; he who has an ear let him hear his message; open your ears and listen. I know how hard you work, I know your works and appreciate your faithful services. Jesus cares when others don’t. He recognizes false teachers when he sees them.

Stand up for what’s right. Jesus desires a spirit of writing. The only way is through Jesus; you can’t make everybody happy. Speak up when lies are told to accommodate sins. Don’t overlook sin. Don’t worry about pleasing folks; instead please him and he will make your enemies behave.

If you don’t do what Jesus said, he will remove your candlestick; your spiritual place. Get on fire for Jesus, be alive and grow because when we do like he said, he will reward you. You will eat from the tree of life where there is healing, joy and peace. Jesus is the access to that tree.
