The Chilton County High-Maplesville match-up for the county tournament championship was a dramatic game.

Thursday’s rematch, an 82-42 CCHS win, was not dramatic.

In last year’s meeting, neither team led by more than four points until late in the game. This time, a much younger group of Red Devils (1-5) couldn’t get on the scoreboard until Brian Bailey connected on a 3-pointer more than halfway through the first period.

By that time, the Tigers (8-5) had an 8-point lead.

Eleven players scored for CCHS compared to three for Maplesville, which was led by Bailey’s 29 points.

Kenyon Floyd (13 points), Edward Williams (12) and Grantland Karn (11) scored in double-digits for Chilton.
