The Jemison trio of Christian Briscoe, Jesse Taylor and Terrance Taylor on Wednesday combined for 52 points to lead the Panthers to a 70-37 win over Verbena in the Chilton County Basketball Tournament.

The win earns No. 3 seed Jemison a date with No. 2 seed Thorsby in a game scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday.

Briscoe was hot in the first period, scoring 11 of his game-high 19 points, and his team took a 14-11 lead that would only grow over the course of the game.

The second and third quarters belonged to Terrance Taylor, who posted 15 of his 18 points in the middle half of the game.

The Panthers turned to Jesse Taylor in the fourth period, and the sophomore accounted for nine of the team’s 13 points in the frame. Jesse Taylor finished with 15 points.

Brad Boswell led Verbena with 14 points.
