How would you feel if, centuries from now, the grave site containing the burials of your family were forgotten, left at the mercy of Mother Nature, or worse – at the hands of vandals?
Sadly, that is the fate of many a resting place in Chilton County. But fortunately, groups like the Chilton Cemetery Association are seeing that our ancestors – those that built the communities we live in and spilled their blood for our freedom – are finally getting some respect.
Two examples of this are on the front page of today’s edition. Thanks to those who care for the resting places of those who have gone before us.
