Chilton County High outscored Jemison 26-6 in the second quarter on Thursday to turn a close game into a 100-62 win, its fourth in its last five games.

The Panthers (1-5) broke the hosts’ press and forced turnovers to trail only 22-21 at the end of one period.

But Kenyon Floyd scored eight points and the Tigers (5-2) pulled away before halftime, which saw a 48-27 CCHS lead.

All 12 players scored for Chilton. Five Tigers – Kenyon Floyd (20 points), Josh Rogers (12), Kaland Farrow (11), Grantland Karn (11) and Kendrick Woods (11) – scored in double digits.

Carlos Turner’s 3-pointer with 17.4 seconds left in the game lit up the seldom used third figure on the scoreboard.

Jemison’s Christian Briscoe led all scorers with 30 points. Teammate Terrance Taylor chipped in 10 points.
