Two women were arrested during a methamphetamine lab bust outside the city limits of Clanton late Monday night.

Jeannette Hutchinson, 47 of Plantersville, and Elvia Colleen Black, 43 of Clanton, are being held at the Chilton County Jail without bond.

Hutchinson was charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of precursor chemicals.

Black was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

After receiving a call-in tip, the Chilton County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force received a search warrant for a house located on County Road 646 in rural Chilton County.

While serving the search warrant, the task force discovered an active methamphetamine lab where two women were allegedly producing meth inside the residence.

“I’m happy to see another manufacturer off of the county’s streets. It’s people like these that are making drugs,” Sheriff Kevin Davis said. “They don’t understand that the fumes from the chemicals used to make these drugs are not only dangerous to themselves, but they are also dangerous to the families that live around them.”
