The finale harescramble of the 2008 Southern Enduro Riders Association Championship Series was held Dec. 7 in Wiggins, Miss.

The Kids event started things off at 8:30 a.m. Our area didn’t have quite as many to attend either race for several different reasons, but there was a good crowd there.

Connor Barrett finished fourth in the Pee Wee class, and Jackson Davis claimed second in the Intermediate Kids class. Neal Ousley grabbed the hole shot in the Vet Kids class, and Jared White led the majority of the race until his handlebars became loose and caused some problems.

Steve Nicholas would go on to win first, Ousley second and White third. Ousley and White would go on to compete in the adult race in the Junior Class along with Beau Burnett and Jacob Davis. This class is full of many great young talents and is growing each year.

Burnett would only make two laps after having mechanical problems, White ran out of gas (10th), Ousley finished ninth and Jacob Davis finished seventh.

Davis is the 2008 points champion in the Vet Kids class. Cliff Ousley once again cruised to victory, finishing overall a full 4:13 ahead of Jeff Parke of Hattiesburg, Miss.

Frank Davis finished sixth overall and Dustin Stevens seventh.

Tyler Carter aced the Open A class and finished fifth overall. Hunter Sanders was unable to finish.

John Huggins finished first in Vet B to finish out the year. Phillip McMillan kept up his winning ways as he mastered the Golden Masters class once again.

There were 133 competitors for the adult race. This season of SERA events has been full of exciting racing and fun filled fellowship. The first event for the 2009 racing season will be held on Jan. 11 at Reynolds’ Pasture and hosted by Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club.
