Charles Castleberry

Charles Alfred Castleberry, 73, died Dec. 1 at Russell Medical Center in Alex City.
He was born Sept. 12, 1935 in the Watson Chapel Community of Elmore County.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Elmer Castleberry Sr.; his mother, Georgie Ingram Castleberry and one brother, James Elmer Castleberry Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula Eller Castleberry; daughter, Cheryl Ann (Keith) Maddox of Clanton; son, Charles Wayne (Karen) Castleberry of Eclectic; two grandsons, Nathan (Beth) Kelley of Calera and Cory Castleberry of Eclectic; two step granddaughters, Holly Hammonds of Milwaukee, Wis. And Morgan Hammonds of Eclectic; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Elizabeth Kelley of Calera; three special brothers-in-law, Buddy (Dorothy) Eller, Richard (Mary) Eller and Billy (Judy) Eller.
He was a graduate of Elmore County High School, class of 1953. He retired as a Civil Engineer, from the Alabama Department of Transportation after 40 years of service. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4 from the Eclectic United Methodist Church where he was a member with the Rev. Mark Osgood and Rev. Bill Bugna officiating.
Burial will follow in Watson Chapel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Griffith, Dale Clayton, Billy Joe Ingram, Wesley Taylor, Bobby Smith and Raymond Swink.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 5-7 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home.
