Two individuals involved in the crash on U.S. Highway 31 on Monday, were identified as Rebecca Jo McAdams, 52, of Memphis, Tenn., and Mark Bo McGhar, 19, of Clanton.

McAdams was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima while McGhar was driving a 1999 GMC Sierra when the two vehicles collided at 2:52 p.m. Monday. The crash occurred between Old U.S. Highway 31 and Wilson Road.

Both vehicles were disabled and were towed by local wrecker companies.

The wreck caused U.S. Highway 31 to be blocked from a five-lane highway to a two-lane highway for at least two hours while the debris was cleared and the road was rendered safe for travel.

McGhar was taken to Chilton Medical Center where he was released with only minor injuries. McAdams was not transported to any hospital and suffered no injuries.
