Chorale, CAPA preparing for Carols 2008 this week

When the Chilton Civic Chorale and the Central Alabama Performing Arts take the stage for Carols 2008 on Dec. 5 and 6 at the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center of Clanton First United Methodist Church, a new era will begin. After several years of performing separately and competing for audiences, the two groups will come together to celebrate the Christmas season. Along with the Chilton Pops, the CAPA Kids, the Sullivan Sisters and Loose Change, these singers will provide audiences with an evening of family entertainment to kick off the holiday season.

With a chorus of about 40 voices, the sound will be more substantial than either group has produced in a while. Under the lively direction of Robby Simpson, the music will be of high quality, and the performers will be having as much fun as the people in the seats.

The camaraderie and fellowship has returned to our rehearsal times and joint projects, and we believe the community will enjoy the fruits of this reunion as much as we do. With common goals and combined efforts, we are ready to entertain our audiences as they deserve to be entertained. We hope the people of Chilton County will celebrate Christmas with us in the spirit of unity that is the hallmark of this season.

Tickets for Carols 2008 are $10 and may be purchased at Whistle Stop Coffee & News, Forrest Veterinary Clinic and O.P. Klinner Furniture Co., all in Clanton, or from any member of the Chilton Civic Chorale & Pops or Central Alabama Performing Arts. Tickets will also be available at the door.
