The Maplesville Christmas tree lighting and annual Christmas parade will take place Sunday. This year, the parade is set to start at Maplesville High School at 2 p.m. and will travel south down Highway 139 past Town Hall, down Highway 22 and will stop at the Alabama Department of Transportation office in Maplesville.

After the parade, Santa will return to Main Street where he will be available for pictures. Tori Howell, a photographer from Shuttle Bugs, will take pictures of Santa. Along with pictures of Santa, there will also be lots of booths and venders along Main Street for people to visit as well as a moon walk, soda pop walk, face painting and more.

“We have worked hard to get everything set up and finished early this year, and so far we have had a lot of people register to be part of the parade and part of the venders. So far we have 26 booths for businesses and vendors,” coordinator Christine Epperson said. “We can’t wait to get everything finished to see just how special this year’s celebration is going to be.”

The town will light the Christmas tree between 5 and 5:30 in front of Town Hall. Eternal Destination will provide entertainment for the full night. The Christmas tree lighting celebration finale will be a small firework show with fireworks provided by Fat Daddy’s BBQ.
