Lady Rebs pull away from Tigers late

Thorsby on Tuesday used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Oak Grove, 51-44, in a contest that was hotly contested most of the way.

The Rebels (2-1) led the Tigers (2-4) by only three points, 31-28, at the end of the third quarter but in the final period used their defense to create turnovers and easy baskets on the other end.

The fatal blow might have come with 4:31 left in the fourth when a perfectly executed inbounds play under the Thorsby basket resulted in a easy lay-in for Amanda Hubbard and a 42-32 Rebels lead.

Sharonda Cooper had a team-high 19 points for Thorsby .

Ashlin Hilyer added 11 points, and Stephany Harris had 10
