Ruth Rasberry

Ruth Martin Rasberry, a former resident of Millbrook, passed away peacefully in Clearwater, Fla. on Monday Nov. 10 at the age of 92.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial.
Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
Rasberry was born in Clanton on Nov. 20, 1915 into a well-known and long-established Martin Family in Chilton County.
She was the daughter of the late Arthur D. Martin and Sally Gay Martin.
She married a local builder and property developer, Charles William Rasberry, and they lived in Clanton and Montgomery until his death in 1998.
For many years she owned and operated a local general store in Clanton.
She was also a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Alabama and Florida.
Five years ago, Rasberry moved to Clearwater, Fla. with her son, Charles William Rasberry, Jr. to be near her daughter, Peggy Thompson Firth, both of whom survive her.
The family will receive family and friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until service time.
