Fred Leroy Hayes, 78, of Clanton died Thursday, Nov. 6, at Chilton Medical Center, Clanton.
He was born on Thursday, Oct. 2, 1930, in Chilton County, son of the late Johnnie Cyrus Hayes and the late Lera Lee Headley Hayes. He was a farmer.
Surviving are his two sons, David L. (Wanda F.) Hayes of Jemison, Daniel (Lisa) Hayes of Clanton; daughter, Deborah (Larry) Martin of Trussville; four grandchildren, David McKay Hayes of Jemison, Marlee Hayes of Jemison, Danielle Hayes of Clanton, Terry Hayes of Clanton; sister, Frances McPherson of Birmingham.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Wright Hayes.
Friends will be received from 6-8, Saturday, November 8, 2008 @ Martin
Funeral Home.
Services will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery, Clanton.
