Toney and Joyce Vaughn will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Clanton. Toney and Joyce have three children; Linda Fortner (Mike) of Lakeland, Tenn.; Leslie Bean (Chris) of Tuscaloosa; and Lt. Col. Larry Vaughn (Stephanie) of Hoover. Toney and Joyce have been blessed with eight grandchildren.

Toney and Joyce began their celebration several weeks ago. The couple, along with their friends, Chief Don and Mellie Bonde from New York, spent two weeks vacationing in Hawaii. Toney and Joyce are very active these days. Toney spends a lot of time on the lake catching the big ones. We hardly ever see the big ones he catches, but we certainly enjoy his stories. Joyce stills prepares a delicious meal and volunteers at the church along with visiting shut-ins. And, Joyce also spends time on the golf course. Linda, Leslie and Larry are looking forward to seeing you. They also want to thank you for joining them as they celebrate this special occasion with their parents.
