Mary Clyde Huff was recently honored with the Alabama education Technology Association Technology Coordinator of the year.

Every year, this award is given to an individual that has gone over and beyond in supporting not only their schools and students but also the technology in the K-12 system.

“I was honored to have even been nominated for the award – let alone receive the award,” Huff said. “I am thrilled to death.”

Huff said that the previous award winners were all extraordinary people. She was proud to be added to such a list.

One of the good things about the award she received is the opportunity to give back to her community. Huff has been given a $1,000 scholarship, which she will give to a student in the Chilton County School System.

“It is wonderful to be able to help a student further his or her education. I am so excited about being able to give this scholarship,” Huff said.

To honor Huff, the Chilton County Technology board gave her a surprise party where she was presented her award by Melinda Maddox, state technology coordinator.
