Area still abnormally dry

All of Chilton County and most of the state is still listed as “abnormally dry” as of Nov. 4, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor for Alabama.

Nearly 73 percent of the state is listed in the same category, while 10.5 percent remains in a moderate drought. This area is in northeast Alabama.

A very small percentage of the state in extreme northeast Alabama remains in a severe drought. This accounts for about 1.8 percent of the state.
