It’s not personal for Nick Saban, but it might be for the LSU fans.

After four seasons, two Southeastern Conference championships and one national championship, Saban left for the National Football League. Three years later, the coach will revisit Tiger Stadium for the first time at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. LSU fans would like nothing more than to spoil the hopes Saban’s current team, Alabama, has for a championship season of its own.

“It’s really not personal, and if people choose to make it that way, there’s nothing we can do about it,” Saban said during Wednesday’s teleconference for SEC coaches.

The Tigers (5-2, 3-2) have had success—another conference and national championship—under third-year coach Les Miles but finds itself this season looking up in the SEC and national standings to the No. 1 Crimson Tide (9-0, 5-0 SEC).

Aside from the Saban storyline, there is much at stake for the two teams. A ‘Bama win would clinch the SEC Western Division for the Tide and keep it in the hunt for a national title, while an LSU win would keep the Tigers alive in the division.
