Ham and Turkey Sale taking off

Published 12:45 am Saturday, November 1, 2008

It’s hard to find a downside to purchasing a ham or turkey from Habitat for Humanity of Chilton County this Thanksgiving. You get a pre-cooked, juicy, delicious ham or turkey and at the same time you help a local family in need.

The sale is underway, and tickets are available from any Habitat Board member or from Heaton Pecan Farm. Honey baked hams are $30 apiece, and smoked turkey breasts are $25 apiece. All proceeds go toward Habitat for Humanity of Chilton County.

The hams are spiral cut and average at 9 pounds apiece, while the turkeys average between 10 and 12 pounds apiece.

Contributors may pick up their hams and/or turkeys Tuesday, Nov. 25 (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving) at Peach Park between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. On that day, they will need to have their tickets with them ready to turn in.

For more information, please contact Habitat for Humanity of Chilton County at 755-8655 or Board president Jane Conradi at 280-4461. If there is no answer, please leave a message.

Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
