Chilton Medical Center will host a Trunk-or-Treat tonight in front of the hospital. Volunteers from the hospital have gathered together to create a safe place for local trick-or-treaters to go show off their costumes.

“This type of trick-or-treating is not only safe for kids but it also helps to save the environment as well,” said Bart Walker, director of support services for Chilton Medical Center. “We are happy to be able to give our local kids such an opportunity to have some safe fun.”

The hospital’s rescue truck is decorated for kids to visit and pick up candy. Anyone who shows up in a costume is allowed to get candy.

“We have tons of candy, and we want to invite everyone to come out and visit us for the trunk-or-treat,” Walker said.

The event is set to start at 5 p.m. and will last until they run out of candy or until the last child is served.

“There is going to be a chance for everyone to enjoy the trunk-or-treat. We want to make sure everyone has a good time and leaves happy,” Walker said.

The hospital will also have someone taking pictures of the visitors and costumes for their bulletin board.
