DOTHAN (AP) – A disabled, bedridden Dothan man was killed in a house fire Monday night.

Dothan Fire Captain Chris Etheredge said 70-year Myron McWilliams died when the blaze swept through his home on Prevatt Road.

An elderly female was also in the house, but she was able to escape.

Etheredge said the fire is believed to have started in a bedroom, but he said the exact cause is investigation.

It was Dothan’s first fire-related death in five years.
