Toney and Joyce Vaughn will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at Clanton First United Methodist Chuch.

The couple has three children, Linda (Mike) Fortner of Lakeland, Tenn., Leslie (Chris) Bean of Tuscaloosa and Lt. Col. Larry (Stephanie) Vaughn of Hoover, and eight grandchildren.

The Vaughns began their celebration several weeks ago. The couple along with their friends, Chief Don and Mellie Bonde from New York, spent two weeks vacationing in Hawaii. Toney and Joyce spend a lot of time on the lake catching big ones.

Joyce still prepares a delicious meal and volunteers at the church along with visiting shut-ins, and she also spends time on the golf course.

The family requests that all family and friends join them for the celebration. No gifts please.
