Isabella put the game out of reach in the first hlalf on Friday night behind six combined touchdowns from Brian Donovan and Brandon Veazey and a dominant performance by the Isabella defense.

The Mustangs won, 56-7, over Shades Mountain Christian.

Donovan (who had 198 yards rushing on the night) scored on runs of 45 yards, 11 yards and 45 yards again while the Mustangs (7-2, 5-2 region) built a 43-0 lead before halftime.

The visiting Eagles (2-7, 1-6) recorded their only first down of the half on a pass interference call.

Isabella’s other scores came on a 41-yard pass from Veazey to Austin Haigler, a 21-yard run by Veazey and a 66-yard pass from Veazey to Allen Edwards.

Haigler (on a 4-yard run) and Hunter Cleckley (52-yard run) scored for the hosts in the second half.

Shades Moutain scored on a 3-yard run by Sean Mardis with 9 minutes left in the game.
