Fall fests are safe alternatives

It’s that time of year again when the air is crisp and everyone is celebrating fall, especially kids in our area. But during all the traditions and celebrations, we should make sure our kids are staying safe. Many local churches and schools are hosting fall festivals for the entire community, and these are great ways to have fun. Just a glance at our Community Calendar (see the Records page) will highlight a few of these, which are scheduled for different dates in the coming week as well as next week.

It makes parents feel a whole lot better if they know they can trust the people who are taking care of their kids, and many of the volunteers at these events are parents themselves.

Around Halloween, it’s best to know where your kids’ candy is coming from, and it’s best when activities are conducted in a group-oriented, organized manner.
