SEC honors Moreno, Berry, Upson

BIRMINGHAM – Georgia tailback Knowshon Moreno, Tennessee safety Eric Berry and Vanderbilt punter Brett Upson won SEC player of the week honors.

Moreno ran for a season-high 172 yards rushing and a touchdown in Georgia’s 24-14 win over Vanderbilt for offensive honors.

Berry had a season-high 10 tackles, a sack and returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown in Tennessee’s win over Mississippi State. His 397 career interception yards is an SEC record.

Upson averaged 44.6 yards on seven punts in Vanderbilt’s loss, twice pinning Georgia inside its own 5-yard line. The Bulldogs had no punt return yardage. Linemen of the week were Alabama’s Mike Johnson and LSU’s Tyson Jackson. Kentucky’s versatile Randall Cobb was freshman of the week.
