Isabella, Jemison advance in postseason play

Jemison and Isabella finished third and fourth respectively in their region tournaments yesterday.

Jemison beat Munford 25-8, 25-20, 25-21. Tabitha Cork had 8 kills, 8 digs, and 5 aces. Samantha Glass 6 kills and four blocks.

Christie Hoffmeyer and Emily Smithy had 8 digs each while Kasi Wells had 19 assists. Smithey also had four aces.

In a loss to Alabama Christian (10-25, 10-25, 16-25), Kasi Wells had 5 digs and 4 blocks. Dallis Vanderslice also had 5 digs while Smithey had 7.

In kills, Cork had 5 and Codi Mims had 4. Wells had 9 assists. Cork had 2 aces.

For blocks Samantha Glass had 7, Codi Mims had 5 and Kasi Wells had 2.

Versus Central Coosa (25-15, 25-13, 25-13), Wells had 8 digs, 7 aces and 15 assists. Cork added 9 digs, 4 kills and 6 aces. Dallis Vanderslice had 8 digs

In kills, Mims had 7, Christie Hoffmeyer and , Samantha Glass had 4 each. Glass also had 4 blocks while Mims had 2.

Isabella started off the day with a win over Fultondale, 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.

The Mustangs fell to Ohatchee 19-25, 25-10, 25-6, 28-26. In the consolation match, playing for third place, the Mustangs were beaten by Shades Mountain Christian, 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 16-25.

Amber Wyatt had 53 kills on the day, followed by Carissa Eiland with 21. Krysta Tyler had 41 assists. Deanna Blozik had 13. Tyler led servers with 13 aces.

Both Isabella and Jemison will travel for the sub-state round of the playoffs.
