CVS/pharmacy of Clanton placed second in the region for collecting 23 units of blood during a recent LifeSouth blood drive.

The “pharmacy challenge” was held among all pharmacies in LifeSouth’s Montgomery Region in July of this year. The region includes Chilton, Autauga, Elmore, Montgomery, Pike and Crenshaw counties.

“It just feels good knowing you are going to save somebody’s life with the time you spend,” CVS Lead Pharmacy Technician Audrey Johnson said. “Even if you are not able to give, just the effort makes you feel good about yourself.”

Only Rite Aid in Millbrook came out ahead of the Clanton store in the first ever pharmacy challenge.

“This is the first time we have had the pharmacy challenge. It was very successful,” LifeSouth Donor Recruiter Lee Nichols said.

LifeSouth’s Montgomery Region supplies local hospitals with blood, including Chilton Medical Center.
