Chilton County’s drought condition remained unchanged this week.

The U.S. Drought Monitor has once again classified the county in a moderate drought according to the latest report.

More than 52 percent of the state is still in a moderate drought. All but seven percent of the state is at least abnormally dry. A small sliver of the eastern portion of the state is experiencing a severe drought.

The extreme southwestern part of the state is the only area not experiencing dry weather.
